·      Day tickets are valid from DAWN to DUSK and from 16th June to 14th March.

·      Day ticket anglers may not bring non-angling guests or any other visitors.

Members Guest Tickets - (Day) £4, (Day - Night) £6.00, (Day - Night - Day) £10

·      Members may bring up to two guests at a time.

·      Member’s guest tickets must be booked in advance with the Day Ticket Manager in person or by telephone but need not be pre-paid.

·      Members and their guests may night fish. Guests must be in possession of the appropriate multi-day ticket and the member must also be fishing the water at the time.

·      Members may take a Waterbeach AC junior member as a guest free of charge provided that they fish near to the member.

·      The member is responsible for their guest’s behavior.

General

·      All tickets [except**] cover the use of TWO RODS ONLY although THREE rods are permissible from 1st October until the end of the season for members and guests only, not day ticket holders. Anglers are reminded that an Environment Agency rod license is required (two licenses for three rods). The EA visit the lake and will prosecute any angler infringing this rule. The club receives regular and invaluable help from the EA in managing Leland Water and they have our full support in this matter.

·      Leland Water management reserve the right to enforce EA rules on their behalf should the behavior of anglers on the lake demand it.

·      All anglers must carry their permits or tickets at all times and must produce them when asked by a bailiff.

·      Permits and tickets are NOT transferable.

·      Members are honorary bailiffs of Leland Water.

·      Tickets to fish ATKINS WATER are available on the bank and may NOT be fished on a Leland ticket. Please do not disturb anglers fishing there.

Around The Leland Water Site :

·      Members and guests must use the car park and close and lock the gate at all times.

·      Day ticket holders must use their separate car park to the right of the gatehouse.

·      Use of vehicles elsewhere on the site is restricted to the Fishery Managers for management purposes only.

·      All anglers must sign IN and OUT in the logbook provided in the Gatehouse. As an aid to management, please record details of your catch including any significant weights.

·      All anglers must stay within Leland Water boundaries at all times and must not trespass on adjacent farmland, Corpus Christi Trout Lake or in the woodland. These areas are private.

·      Loud car radios, excessive use of headlights and revving of engines is to be deplored – people live nearby. Good relations with our neighbours are important.

·      Dogs are allowed provided they are kept under strict control. Under NO circumstances may dogs be allowed to foul paths or swim areas.

·      Introduction to, or removal from, Leland Water of any fish, plant or other wildlife is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN without express permission of the Fishery Manager. In particular, removal of fish from Leland Water, under any pretext, WILL RESULT IN PROSECUTION. Fish MUST NOT be transferred between the lakes on the site.

·      Anglers may NOT dig out or trim swim areas, trees or emergent weed in front of the swims or elsewhere on the site without permission and instruction from the Fishery Manager.

When Fishing :

·      All normal angling methods, baits and groundbaits are allowed although excessive pre-baiting or excessive use of nuts is not. Surplus bait MUST NOT be left on the bank at the end of the day as this encourages rats.

·      Remote controlled “bait boats” are not allowed (as they allow baits to be placed in areas from which it may be impossible to extract a hooked fish).

·      Bivvies may be erected IN THE SWIM ONLY, not elsewhere. No other camping is allowed. Swims may not be reserved.

·      Anglers may fish only one swim at a time and rods must not be left “fishing unattended” AT ANY TIME.

·      Litter and discarded line/tackle will not be tolerated. Whether or not the angler fishing the swim was responsible for it or not, HE/SHE MUST REMOVE IT. If tackle is lost out of reach (in trees or on islands), the Fishery Manager must be informed or a note to the effect left on the Gatehouse blackboard.

·      Torch-lit swims, Tilley Lamps etc. are not allowed. Torches must not be shone across the water.

·      Casting into or across the swims of other anglers is not allowed. Unless you are alone on the water, your swim extends no further than the centre of the lake.

·      Be quiet and considerate to others. Bite alarms must not be set louder than necessary or such that they disturb other anglers. Radio’s/TV’s etc. must not be audible outside the angler’s swim. Banging in of pegs, brolly poles etc. while other anglers are fishing is totally unnecessary. Give occupied swims as wide a berth as possible.

Take care of the fish you catch :

·      Each angler must have access to a landing net close by, not borrowed from a friend in a distant swim. Unhooking mats must be used for Carp and Pike.

·      You must return fish immediately unless photographs are required. In which case, set up cameras before removing fish from the water keeping their time ashore to a minimum. Take extra care if video recording, it can take much longer than you think.

·      All fish, including Eels, must be returned to the water. With deep hooked fish, cut the line as far down as possible and leave the hook in.

·      All fish deaths whether caused by anglers or “from natural causes” must be reported to the Fishery Manager or a note to the effect left on the Gatehouse blackboard.

·      If keepnets are used they must be knotless and preferably with a drawstring or zipped bottom end. Avoid overcrowding. Proper, well-ventilated sacks are preferable for Carp and Pike.

·     In order to reduce the chance of transferring fish diseases; nets, sacks, other tackle or clothing that is damp after use at any other water MUST NOT be used at Leland Water until completely dry or disinfected and dried. If special circumstances require provision of a boot or tackle disinfectant dip, this MUST be used.

____________________________________________________________

These Rules and ticket prices apply from June 2003 until further notice. They apply equally to Leland Water Members, their guests and to Day Ticket holders except where any differences are shown.

Alterations to these Rules or any special circumstances (e.g. a short-term keepnet ban) will be displayed on the Gatehouse notice board along with details of any organized matches and periods of Lake closures.

The Club is very keen to preserve the generally quiet and enjoyable atmosphere that has prevailed at Leland Water so far and these Rules and Notes of Guidance are drawn up to further this aim. Please understand that the Club WILL NOT tolerate willful disregard of these Rules and may, in extreme circumstances, following a formal warning, BAN any Member or Ticket holder from the water.

In case of any doubt, or to suggest alterations or additions to these Rules and Guidelines, please contact the Fishery Manager.
