Our club is based around
the village of Waterbeach, near Cambridge.
Our waters are on the
River Cam and one of it's tributaries, plus we have our own
still-water complex. This includes Leland Water,
Atkins Water and Magpie Lake.
Leland Water is a pristine lake of around 6½ acres, it
has specimen Carp, Pike, Tench, Bream, Rudd, Roach and Perch.
This water is not fishable on the club card, but limited day tickets
are available.
Rex Atkins Water is a smaller lake with all the above
species but no Pike. It is a moat shaped water, used for
both matches and for pleasure fishing. A prolific water
that can be fished on the club card June 16th to March 14th
inc.
Magpie Lake is again a moat shape lake which produces
phenomenal catches of mainly Carp. The record for the
lake is in excess of 300lbs for a 5 hour match. Day
ticket only.
"With immediate effect all anglers fishing
Leland Water, Atkins Water and Magpie Lake are
required to disinfect all nets, weigh slings and
unhooking mats before fishing. Tanks are
provided at each lake and clearly labelled for
the purpose. Anglers failing to comply will be
asked to leave and not return!"
Litter and nylon line is both unsightly, dangerous
to wildlife and can cause the loss of a fishery.
All
discarded line, tackle, bottles and other litter
MUST BE
REMOVED from
swims by Club Members whether dropped by the member
or not. No tins to be brought to any Club
Water.
Any Member found leaving
litter in their swim will be required to explain
their actions to the Committee and may have their
Membership withdrawn.
